How to Use Contents in this folder
How to Benefit From MyEntry Language Resources
In the folders on this site you will find two types of files that you can download into your own Google drive:
- Google sheets (or Excel sheets) that contain language contents. The file name provides the information on the languages used and the Level of the content. The Language level categories are based on the European Union system of language learning A1; A2; B1; B2.
- A zip file contains the same language content as in the Google sheet.
Follow these instructions:
i) You can examine the Language content of the Google sheets and use it for reference.
ii) From your Google drive you can download the zip file into your Android or IOS mobile device (phone or tablet).
- On your iOS device, by selecting Open In… and then in the pop-up menu, selecting Save to Files. In the next screen select Encore!!! Language Learning and press the Save button. This will save the file to your app’s Documents storage area for the Encore app.
- On your Android device, select the Download function and the file will be in your Download folder.
iii) Open the Encore!!! Language application on your mobile device and choose the language you have subscribed to and which is the same as the language combination content you have downloaded.
iv) Go to the Playlist choice and you will see the IMPORT button. Tap the IMPORT button and navigate to the folder where you downloaded the file.
- On your iOS device, this is the Encore!!! Language Learning folder.
- On your Android device, this is the Download folder.
v) Choose the zip file you have downloaded from your Google drive and tap it. You will be taken back to your Encore!!! Language application and the zip file will appear as a playlist in your phone.
v) Tap the Playlist and you will be able to play the playlist. Before playing it you can alter the PAUSE; REPETITION number. You can use the listen-speak-repeat function of Encore!!! to learn the content of the language lesson. The Playlist you download has some parameters like, number of repetitions of the second language and the Pause between repetitions set. However, a user can change these parameters as needed.
Teachers and language content creators can create and share their content in the same manner:
- Create new content in your Encore!!! Language Learning application by using the MyEntry function. You can create an English-New Language content (as well as if needed transliteration if needed) by entering content. You can use the record function of the app OR (if available) text to voice choice to articulate the text content.
- Once the MyEntries are created use the Playlist function to make a playlist with your new entries.
- Nowpress the button to the right of the playlist you want to “export” – this will enable the EXPORT button on the application. Tap the EXPORT SELECTED button.
- On your iOS device, select the Encore!!! Language Learning folder and create a new sub folder. Give it a name of your choice. Then press the Done button. This will create a zip file with the name you have supplied..
- On your Android device, navigate to the folder where you would like to save the exported file. Change the name of the zip file from the default Transfer.zip to a name of your choice making sure the file ends with .zip so the file remains of the type zip. Then press the Save button. This will create a zip file of your playlist in that folder.
- You can now go to your own Google drive and upload the zip file to your Google drive.
- You can now share the zip file with your students/followers. Alternatively, if the file size is small, you can email this file to your students directly from your phone.
- The students can now IMPORT the zip file in their Encore!!! application and use it.
- The recipient’s device does not need to be the same type as yours. In other words, you can export from an iOS device and recipients can import to either their iOS or Android devices. Similarly, you can export from an Android device and recipients can import on either type of device.
Note that an Encore!!! Language app user, once he or she has imported a language playlist, can alter the number of times the second language is repeated, the pause time between repetition, can turn-off the first language, can alter the speaking speed, etc.
