What’s in the Encore!!! library?
Encore!!! comes with a library. With the free download you can view the text content of this library but not hear the audio files (other than those included in the Free Playlists). With a purchase you can access the text and audio files and make playlists. It is a good idea to take some time and gain familiarity with the extensive library content.
The Library contains the following sections:
i) Vocabulary: about 2400 unique words organized into nouns (~1000) arranged in different categories,
- verbs (~760) at various levels of difficulty,
- pronouns (~90),
- adjectives (~300),
- adverbs (~80),
- prepositions (~50),
- conjunctions (~40),
- cardinal numbers (110) and
- ordinal numbers (20).
Nouns are in arranged in 13 different categories such as places, education, weather, animals, body, entertainment etc.
ii) Sentences: 1560 sentences from ~4560 words in the Vocabulary section of the library. The “breakdown” option in the playlist allows key words in each sentence to be repeated for emphasis.
ii) Greetings and Useful Phrases: (~ 200) useful words and phrases used for introductions, shopping, obtaining transport, ordering food in restaurants, dealing with emergencies, etc.
iv) Grammar: ~150 sentences that illustrate proper grammar use for languages.
v) Verb Conjugations: examples show how verb forms change with number and tense.
vi) Casual Conversations: cover 12 distinct topics (travelling, cooking, daily schedule, making plans, shopping for food, shopping for household goods and clothes, etc.). The casual conversations have been recorded by native speakers. Sentence “breakdown” option allows key vocabulary used for each sentence to be repeated for emphasis and clarity.
vii) Lesson Plans: 39 lessons are arranged in Playlists that are ordered according to the level of difficulty. If a user studies and learns the vocabulary, grammar and sentences in these playlists he/she will be comfortable talking to a native speaker about everyday life.
